Hi hi! I wanted to practice more traditional and I feel like.. often I take commissons more seriously lol so I decided to take 2 of them! Honestly, I don't have many examples yet in my gallery and due to the experimental nature they're gonna be much cheaper than my digital commissions.
Here's my pricing:
Fullbody no bg: 65$
Fullbody with bg (full illustration): 95$
Halfbody no bg: 45$ (hips/waistup)
Halfbody full illustration: 75$
Here are some examples of what I can currently do:
this is fully watercolour in style, no gouache at all
This was very mixed media. Equally both watercolour and gouache were used
This one is full on typical gouache style!

MAN, ever since last year, drawing has become really hard for me... and just finishing things in general. It feels like I have to overcome some rather big levels of inertia to do it, I don't know what it is but things are just harder. I personally think what kickstarted this is 3 main factors, no.1 the pandemic, no.2 is Discord (although I'm not as addicted to it nearly as much nowadays xd), no.3 is Instagram.
For the pandemic: In 2020 at peak of the pandemic I was drawing a lot and at a good pace actually, probably the best I've done like... ever lol. I mean I never had as much time as I did that year. I barely cared about school at least b4 summer bc it was decided that our exams would be only pass or fail (no worry about the GPA) and I also had a 4 month summer break. What happened by the end of this all though, is that I became unused to working under pressure and during serious school months so to speak. Not only that but Discord sighs.. I was active in a certain community there and legit I pretty much became addicted to it by the end of 2020, which also made me draw even less.
Fast forward to somewhere between April/May 2021 when Instagram did something to it's algorithm which killed my reach and I have been consistenly losing followers since then, legit I might have lost 7-8k so far lol (I think the rate is around 10 per day), which was in itself very very demotivating, I just kept thinking I was doing something wrong, that I sucked. Tbh in a sense I know numbers shouldn't matter - especially as a non professional - yet, we as hobbyists still seek this "high". To be honest, it's just hard to judge your own art objectively, so these numbers are the closest thing to an "objective" answer and validation we get (Even though let's be honest that also isn't true as many popularity is a result of consistency and also following trends to some degree, also luck ofc). And then we take the increase in numbers as a sign in improvement, so seeing things go down so constantly is just crushing. I've been feeling much more content posting on Twitter and Artfol because while I have much less likes, at least it doesn't consistently go down, it feels like there is "hope". I just think social media has become so hard for us artists honestly. The popularization of reels over photo media on Instagram is the worst shit ever. Not only do we have to churn out even more art but also make videos/memes too, just preposterous honestly🙄. I feel like it's just hard to keep up... why even bother anymore? Is just what I'm feeling. And I'm sure it's THAT much harder for artists starting out too.
Tbh I'm trying to undo the conditioning that I've experienced that just because something isn't popular that it's bad and also vice versa... but it's difficult when you've been posting on social media for 10 years. I honestly wish to overcome this all, it made me realize how much I've started to draw for the wrong reasons. It just stripped the magic out of the process completely. I've been trying to doodle and draw for myself more bit by bit recently, I want to feel like art is fun again and not just a burden 😭.
End of rant... honestly I don't really like ranting a lot, but I just wanted to get this off my chest, I know many artists are sadly struggling with these same issues. Hope you are all doing well ❤️!
